BHAVIN PATEL

Principal

Bhavin Patel has expertise in real estate M&A with over fifteen years of comprehensive business management experience and an exceptional record of accomplishments in operations. He has a proven ability to implement corporate goals and business objectives that involves thorough analysis and administration of operational procedures and is extremely forward thinking. He grew up in Northeast Ohio, and attended the University of Akron (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Marketing) and Ashland University (Executive Masters in Business Administration - Entrepreneurship). He is an Executive Committee Member on the Board of the Northeast Ohio Apartment Association and a member of the Greater Akron Chamber Board. Bhavin lives in Bath, Ohio with his wife and two daughters.

MICHAEL J. SMITH

Principal

Michael Smith is an experienced leader with over 25 years of general management, supply chain and consulting experience with Exxon, PricewaterhouseCoopers, IBM and Textura. He is a collaborative manager driven to achieve bottom-line results through building and leading diverse domestic and international teams. Entrepreneurial by nature, Mr. Smith founded Barnett Advisors in 2010, a business consulting organization. He grew up in the Midwest, and attended the University of Illinois (Bachelor of Science in Engineering), Washington University in St. Louis (Masters in Business Administration), and Cleveland State University (Real Estate Finance and Development). He is also a Six Sigma Green Belt. He lives in Fairlawn, Ohio with his wife and two sons.

 

 

Saagar Parikh

Principal

Saagar Parikh is an experienced investor with over 15+ years on Wall Street at J.P.Morgan, KeyBanc Capital Markets, and Cohen & Steers. He retired from the corporate world in April 2023 and brought his considerable skill set to Green Harvest Capital and Spark GHC. Mr. Parikh has joined as a Principal and will be focused on strategic vision, finance and development, and investor relations among other items. Before joining Green Harvest Capital and Spark GHC, Mr. Parikh was at Cohen & Steers where he worked on the $10 billion+ AUM Global Infrastructure strategy covering and investing in publicly traded freight rails, midstream energy, waste infrastructure, and global gas. He grew up in Northeast Ohio and attended The Ohio State University where he double majored in Finance and Economics. Mr. Parikh lives in New York City with his wife and two kids.


 

George Moy

Executive Vice President of Finance & Development

George F. Moy executes on the firm’s strategic plan and oversees multiple functional areas within Green Harvest Capital, GHC Living, and GHC Construction Services. He has an integral role in the growth, direction, and success of GHC utilizing his 25 years in financial services with focus on real estate investment and development including multi-family, office, retail, self-storage, and industrial projects. His leadership experience includes management and oversight of all business activities in the Northeast Ohio metropolitan market, regulatory compliance, and P&L performance of a regional banking platform.

George began his career as a college student at John Carroll University while working on his BSBA in Management. During college, he worked at KeyBank in customer service and eventually was part of the Corporate Banking Management Associate Program (CBMAP). The CBMAP had a focus on Commercial Credit and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) via the Institutional Lending Group (REIT) and Community Development Lending & Investment (CDLI).  During his 15 years with KeyBank, he also earned his M.B.A. in Finance. George is also an alumnus of Saint Ignatius High School and active with the school via the Alumni Network and the Saint Ignatius Entrepreneur Academy (SIEntA). He is serving or has served on the boards of The Union Club of Cleveland, Cleveland Central Catholic, and The Collaborative to End Human Trafficking. George and his wife Lorrie live in Bay Village, Ohio with their two sons GT and Patrick.


 

Lewis D. Baker, CFP®

Senior Vice President, Investor Development

Lewis D. Baker, CFP® is a seasoned wealth advisor whose practice is centered on comprehensive financial planning with tax efficiency. ​ 

A graduate of the United States Military Academy Lew started his 28 year career at Merrill Lynch. Within 5 years he built a successful practice and joined Morgan Stanley as a vice president.  

​Lew built his success upon a solid foundation of investment knowledge, but also recognized that financial planning and tax efficiency can be of equal or greater value to individual investors than portfolio management. His passion for leadership and helping others led him to leave the large corporate structure of Morgan Stanley to launch his own firm, Baker Schilling Wealth Strategies in 2002. With the addition of new team members, in 2018, Lew launched Rock Creek Wealth Planners and Advisors, a financial planning-based SEC Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).

Lew is also a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), with a passion for assisting small business owners navigate buy/sell decisions which impact their personal financial lives.

Outside of the advisory firm he has built, Lew is a co-manager of the Academy Fund, a private debt fund providing capital to military veteran real estate entrepreneurs. He is also an early-stage investor in several veteran-led ventures, and he serves as a director on the board of Empower, a D.C. based start-up challenging Uber and Lyft in the rideshare space.

Lew gives back to his alma mater and community serving on the service academy selection board for U.S. Representative Eleanor Holmes-Norton which is the gateway to youth trying to reach the goal of attending an academy. He is also an active committee member for diversity, equity and inclusion for the West Point Association of Graduates.
